Cross-border cooperation
The first section of this chapter looks in detail at cross-border cooperation programs (also known as “Interreg VI A” programs).
These programs aim to promote integrated regional development between neighboring regions of two or more member states, or two or more member states and non-member countries.
The cross-border cooperation programs identified for Italy cover the borders (land and/or sea) with France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece and Malta. They also target the maritime cross-border areas that Italy shares with Albania and Montenegro and Tunisia.
We invite you to consult the first page of this section for a better understanding of the logic followed in the analysis of cooperative programs.
