With the onset of spring we are proposing a series of new calls on media and culture, digital, health enterprise and migration.
Spring 2022 European calls for proposals: the “awakening”
After an already rich winter round , the spring months offer us many new opportunities. Many are again related to Digital Europe a and EU4Health, two of the most innovative programs of this seven-year period. But there is ample room for other areas: Creative Europe (digital media, market development and collaborations, films, literary works and more); the long-awaited “ Erasmus for young entrepreneurs “; interesting calls related to the ever-present topic of migration – and more.

Creative Europe Calls for Proposals (various deadlines)
The first calls for 2022 have been published for Creative Europe , the flagship program for European culture, artistic expression, audiovisual and media:
- Television and online content (April 5)
- Distribution of European films (April 5)
- Media literacy (April 6)
- Network of European Festivals (April 7)
- Innovative tools and business models (April 7)
- MEDIA 360° (synergies in the value chain) (April 12)
- Video game and immersive content development (April 12)
- Development of a catalog of independent European works (April 27)
- Promoting European skills and talents in the media (May 4)
- Small-scale European cooperation projects (May 5)
- Medium-scale European cooperation projects (May 5)
- Large-scale European cooperation projects (May 5)
- Circulation of European literary works (May 31)
- European video on demand networks and operators (June 2)
- Markets and networking (June 28)
Digital Europe (deadline May 17)
A new tranche of calls for proposals from Digital Europe (we published the previous one this winter ). The areas of focus closely echo one of our recent in-depth study On the topic. As can be appreciated from the calls for proposals, digital is increasingly a strategic and cross-cutting area, affecting so many subject areas (industry, public sector, education, culture, cities, health…):
- Standardization of blockchain
- Security and law enforcement data space
- Testing and experimentation for the agribusiness sector
- Cybersecurity support for the health sector
- European infrastructure for cancer imaging
- Testing and experimentation for the health sector
- Public sector open data for artificial intelligence and open data platform
- Testing and experimentation for the manufacturing sector
- Promoting European innovation in education
- Short courses in key areas and skills
- Testing and experimentation for smart cities and communities
- Cultural heritage data space
- Implementation of the network of national coordination centers with member states
- Supporting the implementation of the European digital identity framework and the “Once Only System” under the Single Digital Gateway regulation
- Security and law enforcement, experimentation based on artificial intelligence
- GovTech Incubator
EU4Health (deadline May 24)
A new tranche of calls is also available for EU4Health , planned for strengthening health systems and responding to health threats (again, after a tranche already issued this winter ):
- Training for health care staff, including digital skills
- Supporting member states and other stakeholders to adopt innovative public health research findings regarding Covid-19 vaccination
- Monitoring and strengthening the implementation of innovative approaches to EU-wide screening of prostate, lung and stomach cancer
- Prevention of noncommunicable diseases other than diabetes and cardiovascular disease
- Development of early warning and guidance tools in pricing through the EURIPID database and competitive analysis
- Mental health promotion
- Support the capabilities of notified bodies for medical equipment
- Supporting the implementation of the Health Technology Assessment Regulations – training for joint health technology assessment activities
Single market (various deadlines)
The Single Market Program covers all topics related to economics, business, markets, consumer protection and statistics. Of particular note is Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, an interesting exchange and networking program (precisely) for young entrepreneurs:

- Public procurement for innovation development (May 3)
- “SME-friendly” training for central purchasing bodies (May 18)
Security and migration (various scans)
A number of calls have been published under the Homeland Security Fund (FSI) and the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI), some of which jointly deal with the topic of migration:
- (FSI) Joint Operational Partnerships to prevent and combat migrant smuggling in migration routes to the EU together with relevant authorities of third countries e Turkey (April 27)
- (FSI) Places of Worship. (May 11)
- (FSI) Public spaces, CBRN-E, CUAS, explosives (May 11)
- (FSI) Actions against human trafficking (May 19)
- (FAMI) Assistance, support and integration of third-country nationals who are victims of human trafficking (May 19)
