A new tool for the most innovative SMEs

TheEuropean Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises recently relaunched a tool dedicated to innovative SMEs with strong growth potential in international markets.

The support provided by this tool has three phases: feasibility study, market entry support, and coaching in product management. The instrument draws on the innovation expertise of a specific community body, theEuropean Innovation Council pilot.

A self-assessment tool, proposal submission portal and reference documents, including the 2018-2020 work plan, are available online.

Eurostars, for the promotion of SME innovation.

The European Commission and the international Eureka network also co-fund Eurostars, an instrument that is in some ways similar: expressly designed to promote innovation by SMEs, it is aimed at fostering their development of new products, services and processes with a view to entrepreneurial and market growth.

The call and forms for the current edition of Eurostars are available online, with a deadline of September 13, 2018. There are Eureka offices nationwide(including Italy) that can provide more information regarding initiatives promoted in individual countries. Here is the 2019 call for proposals.

A webinar was held on May 29 explaining the program, the application process, the criteria used and how to prepare a successful proposal. You can register for the webinar through this link and send your questions in advance to this address.
