A new Official Guide allows people to find the program that best suits their needs, in the area of culture and beyond.
A revamped site for cultural actors
With the new programming, many websites of the European Commission and European fund managing authorities have changed their look and offer new tools: the same path followed a few months ago also by our Guide .
One interesting piece of news closely concerns those in the culture and creative industries. La dedicated section of the European Commission website has been revamped and includes a lot of interesting information, including in particular:
- A review of European policies in the field of culture, with all the useful links to learn more about the European policy framework, competencies and central issues dealt with by EU institutions in this area;
- A detailed overview of EU strategies, policies and actions in each of the different sectors pertaining to the cultural and creative world: architecture, audiovisual, literature and publishing, music and performing arts;
- A set of tools dedicated to finding funding in the cultural and creative sphere: direct access to the pages of Creative Europe and its various components, a section dedicated to the calls for proposals , an interactive guide and a portal for researching successful experiences and projects in this area.
An interactive guide to European funding
The interactive guide proposed on the site dedicated to culture and the creative industry is certainly one of the most interesting new features. It allows to select some key-parameters, on the basis of which the most interesting opportunities within the various programs are reported:
- Its own field of activity (Architecture, Artistic crafts, Cultural heritage, Design and fashion, Literature, books and publishing, Music, Performing arts, Visual arts o All sectors);
- The type of organization to which one belongs (Educational institution, Physical person, NGO, nonprofit or civil society organization, Private or public foundation or cultural institution, Private organization, Local, regional or national public service, Social enterprise or All organizations);
- The type of support or the type of activity for which funding is sought (Artistic and cultural mobility and residency, Artistic creation, Audience development, Entrepreneurial and management skills development, Creative and technical skills development, Digitization and new business models, Direct cost financing, Scaling up financing, Internationalization of activities and access to new markets, Networks and knowledge sharing, Product, service and infrastructure development, Research, development and innovation o All types).
Both the parameters that can be entered and the results produced by this interactive guide go beyond the arts, culture and creative sector: confirming the interdisciplinary nature of the current programming cycle, the platform points out relevant opportunities from all major community programs. Just to name a few: Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Citizenship, equality, rights and values, European Solidarity Corps, Single Market Program, InvestEU, Digital Europe, LIFE e Global Europe, as well as initiatives such as the New European Bauhaus.
The same information and approach are also captured in a guide in pdf format downloadable at this link . It takes up (like the platform) all programs more or less related to the arts and creative sectors, allowing the text to be “navigated”, through the use of icons, by type of sector, organization and action. For each program it provides, in addition to more general information, a description of how it might be relevant and of interest to actors in the arts and creative sector. It also presents, in dedicated fact sheets, best practices of some projects in different sectors and intervention categories as inspiration for new initiatives.
An opportunity for in-depth study and a consultation tool
This new website and (even more) the guide pdf e this new tool for the consultation of community programs enter fully among the Reference Guides For the current planning period. They are bearers of a practical, operational approach to European funds based on a comprehensive and strategic vision: I same approach and vision which are found also in our Guide and in the various tools it proposes, such as the in-depth columns, the summary table and the thematic pagese.
Happy reading, happy consultation and happy europlanning to all.
